On November 9th, Buffalo Art Society member, Jeff Swaluk gave a very informative presentation on his methods of moving from photo realism to interpretive, nature-based, acrylic painting. He worked from an enlarged, good quality photo, creating to his own personalized visual notations and scribbles. Simplification, line, shapes, pattern and high contrast values were emphasized. His demo was educational for both beginners and seasoned artists.
Jeff has provided members with a PDF book with all of the information covered at the meeting. It can be accessed here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wy_MwCSSTM8zy6atQfsN9gl5ZKhNfIUv/view?usp=sharing Photos by Sharon Bartell.
